About Us/Staff
Andrea LaVoy Wagner is the founder of LaVoy Wagner LLC, and the former Executive Director for CAMHPRO (CA Assoc. of Mental Health Peer Run Organizations).
While at CAMHPRO, Andrea was inspired and mentored by Sally Zinman, the founding director, and a pioneer leader in the mental health peer movement. Previously, Andrea worked as a crisis counselor and peer advocate at both county and nonprofit services in Chico, California, after experiencing her own challenges with mental health.
Her experience and passion have led to a life of advocacy for peer support and voluntary community systems of mental health care. With a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Andrea also worked as a newspaper reporter. She also has and a master’s in public administration from University of Southern California, Price, in Sacramento.
Currently employed as a Regional Advocacy Specialist for New York’s Office of Mental Health, she lives in Lockport, New York with her son and an incredibly stubborn orange cat named Jeff.
