Kevin Freitas, Volunteer

A world that works for everyone with no one left out.*

Kevin is a Y2K graduate of Klemmer Personal Mastery Seminar and Advanced Leadership Seminar. He volunteers as a small group leader for Personal Mastery. He lives in recovery and resilience from depression and alcoholism dating in his family tree from the 1800s. He has been a recipient of mental health services and treatment through 50 years.

Kevin began volunteering in community drug crisis intervention during the 1970s. He has since accumulated a range of training and professional experiences from community mental health education and prevention, substance abuse counseling, HIV/AIDS prevention, career school educator, mobile crisis Peer Support Specialist, to fundraising and program management in 2023, with the CalHOPE Support Program and the California Association of Mental Health Peer Run Organizations (CAMHPRO).

Kevin believes leadership begins with personal responsibility in service to others. When Peers hold themselves and others capable and accountable for giving nothing short of their personal best, the result is not merely coping with constant change, but bold ethical leaders** driving change; creating newer, stronger, sustainable peer run organizations and peer services than ever.
